Geographical Distribution of Websites Referring to a Single Malicious Code Server
An analysis of malicious code detected in URLs scanned by Finjan SecureBrowsing shows the geographical distribution of infected websites that refer to a single instance of malicious code. This map provides us with critical insight into the magnitude and global pervasiveness of malicious code on the web, as discussed in our Q2 Web Security Trends Report. The red indicators on the map show the locations of websites containing IFRAMEs pointing to a single malicious code server (out of thousands detected by Finjan SecureBrowsing) operated by one criminal.

Infection Rates of Malicious Code by Country
Additional statistics gathered from a different malicious site show the infection rates by country. Again, these statistics refer to a single malicious code server - one could only imagine what this map would look like if we were to multiply the number of malicious code servers by several thousands to reflect the actual number that exist on the web today, as detected by Finjan SecureBrowsing.
